PERSONAL WORK,"FAN GIRL / LAST DAYS OF SUMMER"

Almost every summer I make it a point to document a vision I’ve had of the way the light looks in the summertime in Vancouver, and every year it looks a little bit different.

This summer, I spent a lot of time in and around the places I grew up. in my childhood home, the rooms where I would watch movies and listen to music all day, and in the parks where I made my earliest photographs of my friends. Sometimes the photographs are like daydreams or impressions from my memory, but for the most part, it’s not meant to be that literal.

It’s more about capturing the light and a feeling that’s hard to put my finger on — like the little moments or vignettes in a movie that aren’t part of the narrative, but stay with you the most, for whatever reason.
